Rwyf wrth fy modd Glenn Brown's baentiadau; ei gais o baent yn wirioneddol unigryw ac yn effeithiol iawn. Mae ei baentiadau math o fy atgoffa o Xia Xiaowan's paentiadau 3D a welais ar Will's blog. Rwyf wrth fy modd portreadau felly y maes hwn o gelf yn ddiddorol iawn i mi.

I love Glenn Brown's paintings; his application of paint is really unique and very effective. His paintings kind of reminds me of Xia Xiaowan's 3D paintings which I saw on Will's blog. I love portraiture so this field of art is very interesting to me.

Helfa Gelf ei threfnu gan bwyllgor gwirfoddol o artistiaid lleol a gwneuthurwyr. Yr wyf wedi ymuno arddangosfa ar y cyd sydd wedi ei leoli yn Wrecsam; mae 6 artistiaid, pob raddedigion Celfyddyd Gain. Mae'r llwybr Helfa Gelf Art yn digwydd ar y tri penwythnos cyntaf mis Medi. Ges i dipyn diswyddo i ffwrdd gyda fy ngwaith presennol ac awydd newid, felly rwy'n ar hyn o bryd yn gwneud gwaith newydd ar gyfer Helfa Gelf; rwy'n gobeithio i gynnwys lluniadau, ffotograffiaeth ac o bosibl rhai lluniau. Dyma wefan y llynedd bod yn esbonio am Helfa Gelf yn llawer gwell na fi wedi!

Helfa Gelf is organised by a voluntary committee of local artists and makers. I have joined a group exhibition that is located in Wrexham; there are 6 artists, all Fine Art graduates. The Helfa Gelf Art trail takes place on the first three weekends of September.

I've gotten a bit sacked off with my current work and I fancy a change, so I’m currently doing new work for helfa gelf; I’m hoping to include drawings, photography and possibly some paintings.

Helfa Gelf Statement

My work derives from how images are used to convey messages, how they show emotion and how our perception of images can be affected by motion and movement.

I feel that life is like a ticking clock and it’s important for me to capture each moment whether it be still or moving.

I observe the intimate setting of my life in Wales, using the Welsh language as an essential component in expressing this intimacy. As well as experimenting with photography and drawing I also like to include a sculptural element to my work. I find great inspiration from my surroundings and apply these personal snippets of reflection within my creations.

Yr oeddwn yn edrych ar ffyrdd o gyflwyno'r lluniau asetad am ychydig, cael rhwystredig gan nad gwydr yn y pethau hawsaf i weithio gyda, ac yr wyf yn y pen draw daeth i fyny gyda'r westy hwn yn meddwl ac yn penderfynu gwneud darn cerfluniol allan ohono. Dwi'n hoff iawn o gerfluniau a gweithio gyda deunydd 3D ac felly es i fanteisio'n llawn ar y cyfle hwn i gynnwys rhai ychydig ffitio o bren yn fy ngwaith a hefyd yn medru cael fy nwylo budr, ish.

I ddim yn nifer o deithiau o amgylch y masnachwyr pren yn Lerpwl i gael dyfynbrisiau ar faint o goed derw ac ati Gan gostio derw yn ddrud iawn, roedd yn anodd dod o hyd bris da am y swm sydd ei angen yr wyf, wrth lwc, Sean gwybod i berson a fyddai'n cael ei rhoi i ffwrdd oddi ar toriadau am bris rhesymol. Sean llwyddo i gael mi rhai bit 'n glws o dderw Saesneg ac yr oeddwn yn ddiolchgar iawn am. Cael gwydr ar gyfer y darn hwn o waith oedd hefyd yn waith drud; yn ffodus wyf eisoes wedi cael darn yn y cartref ac yn cael dau ddarn arall i fesur. Yr wyf yn penderfynu defnyddio delweddau hyn o Kate, Nain a Ang ar gyfer fy asetad gan fy mod wedi cael nifer o ddelweddau o bob un a oedd yn lliwgar, cyfansoddiad doeth dim ond perffaith ac mae pob tri bodau dynol yn rhan o fy mywyd mewn rhyw ffordd.

Here are some images of my oak stands for the acetate sculptures. I was looking at ways to present the acetate photographs for a while, getting frustrated as glass isn’t the easiest things to work with and I eventually came up with this westy thought and decided to make a sculptural piece out of it. I'm very fond of sculpture and working with 3D material and so I took full advantage of this opportunity to include some fit bit of wood in my work and also get my hands dirty, ish.

I did several trips around the wood merchants in Liverpool to get quotes of how much oak would cost etc. As oak is very expensive, it was hard to find a good price for the amount I needed, luckily, Sean knew of a person who would be giving off cuts away at a reasonable price. Sean managed to get me some nice bit of English oak which I was very grateful for. Getting glass for this piece of work was also an expensive job; luckily I already had a piece at home and got two other pieces to measure. I decided to use these images of Kate, Nain and Ang for my acetate as I had several images of each that were colourful, composition wise just perfect and all three humans are a part of my life in some way.
